Hey everyone, I’m Josiah Smith, the founder of Motion Worship, and I’m so excited to share some free resources with you and tell you about my new book!

It’s called Someone Like You and it follows the stories of seven ordinary individuals used by God to build extraordinary ministries. Each chapter is filled with inspiring stories and miraculous examples of God’s provision as people started from scratch and learned how to build an organization. As a storyteller I wanted to create an engaging narrative that would be fun and interesting to read, so these are more like short stories rather than biographies.

My hope is that this book will be a great tool you can use to inspire your congregation to serve both inside and outside the church. I saw a study recently that said when a church actively serves in their community it causes that church to grow. Right now my church is going through a sermon series using this book chapter by chapter, and we’ve seen an incredible response as new people are joining small groups and getting involved in serving for the first time.

Now, on to the free stuff. Over the last year we’ve been capturing interviews with each of the founders in the book, and we’ve produced an 8-session small group video series that’s completely free and available online. Each session covers one founder and their organization, with relevant topics and scripture to go along with it. All of this has been produced with the quality and production value you’d expect from Motion Worship, in a style similar to RightNow Media if you’ve seen their studies. Plus I personally wrote study guides for each session. I’ve been a small group leader for 20 years and I have a passion for creating thoughtful questions designed to foster meaningful discussion.
